Modern Pershing tanks that served in the last months of World War II were characterized by high efficiency. Most of them ended up in General Pattons army, where they did a great job. The production of these tanks began in 1944 and continued until the following year, with approximately 2,200 units being produced. The tank was equipped with armor up to 102 mm thick and an effective 90 mm M3 cannon. The end of World War II did not mean the end of the Pershings service. They were deployed again during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.
