On March 19, 1989, a new chapter in aviation history began over 30 years ago. An extraordinary machine - a tiltrotor prototype - took to the sky for the first time, a fascinating and futuristic combination of a helicopter and an airplane. The tiltrotor, known as the Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey, was the first multirole short takeoff and landing aircraft. This was made possible by its rotating propulsion system. Engine nacelles with 12-meter diameter rotors can rotate during flight. Thanks to this solution, the aircraft can take off and land like a helicopter and, after changing the position of the engines, it can fly in a horizontal position. By rotating the propulsion nacelles by 45 degrees, it allows for both short takeoff and landing, similar to STOL aircraft. The Osprey was developed by Bell Helicopter Textron, which produces wings, engine nacelles with Rolls-Royce engines, rotor blades, propulsion system, tail control surfaces, and cargo ramp, and Boeing Company, which produces the fuselage, cockpit, avionics, and controls. The Osprey manufacturing company is called Bell-Boeing. Due to its extraordinary capabilities, the V-22 Osprey became part of the equipment for the United States Marine Corps, United States Navy, and other services, except for the US Army.

The COBI model of the Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey was released under license from the American fighter jet manufacturer, Bell Helicopter Textron. Developed in 1:48 scale to match the rest of the military collection, the model consists of 1136 elements and includes two figures depicting the first test pilots in distinctive uniforms. The length of the model is 390 mm, and the width is 500 mm! Brand new elements have been developed for the set, making our model even better! Numerous detailed prints capture the appearance of the signature test paint job. The main features of the model are the propulsion nacelles, which can be adjusted to different positions, rotating rotor blades, opening cabin doors with stairs, access to the cockpit and the ability to place figures there, and an openable cargo bay hatch. The entire set is complemented by a black reinforced block base with double support and a black plate with the name of the set and the Bell logo.

This fantastic tiltrotor/rotator is the perfect set for collectors and fans of military, aviation, and history. The beautiful historical paint job and an attractive display mode make the model truly impressive!
